  It is said that this was actually an aqueduct and that he used to supply water from the Cijevna River to Doclea. Doclea is a city from the first century whose ruins lay a few kilometers from the bridge. The place around the bridge and bridge itself is called Mostine. It is interesting that one side of the largest pillar is held on only one stone.
